THE CHALLENGE

Create a launch trailer from a game that has no pre-rendered scenes, lead characters, or major storyline. Basically, create something out of nothing.

THE SOLUTION

Let’s make a public service film to showcase the disasters the gamer will be able to use to torture their Sims (a favorite feature amongst SimCity fans). The idea will achieve several goals:
(1) It creates an engaging story for a game with no storyline.
(2) It markets a new feature SimCity fans love.
(3) It makes for a great mechanism to showcase new gameplay while adding to the brand’s cheeky personality.
